The Remington Fair.
• The second annual Fair of the Remington Agricultural Association will be held at their grounds near Remington, Jasper county, Indiana; on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, August 22d, 28d, 24th and 25th, 1876. The programme will be as follows: first DAT. Entries and arrangements. Trotting by double teams, for a purse of 180. Mule race for $5. * SECOND DAT. Imported draft horses. Thoroughbred horses. Horses for general purposes. Jacks, jennets and mules. Sheep and hogs. Cattle, natives and crosses. Boys’ equestrianship, for purse of 14.50. Fast pacing, for purse of sllO. Medium trotting, for purse of SIOO. At 1 o’clock p. m.. an address by Major Wm. H. Calkins, republican candidate for Congress. THIRD DAT. Heavy draft horses. Carriage and matched horses. Trotting by double teams, (green) for purse of $7.50. Thoroughbred cattle. Fast trotting, for purse of $l5O. 2:50 trotting race, for purse of $75. FOURTH DAT. Sweepstakes for cattle, horses, hogs, etc. Riding, by men over sixty years old. Ladies’ equestrianship, ladies to change horses, for purse of $8.50. Poorest pig, for purse of $2.50. Foot race, half-mile dash, for purse of $7.50. 2:40 pacing race, for purse of S6O. Grand procession of all premium clock (that can be lead) around the ring. In all races an entrance fee of 10 per cent, will be charged at time of entry. All trotting and pacing races in single harness, five to enter, three to start; mile heats, best three in five.
