The necessary preliminaries having been complied with by petitioners, Board appointed Lucius Strong, James Yeoman and Jared Benjamin to view and report open such proposed work. Examined and approved financial exhibit of auditor, which exhibit is published in the advertising columns of this papor. Ordered the auditor of Jasper county to direct the auditor of Porter county to pay William Stoddard S3O out of funds belonging to Jasper county in hands of treasurer of Porter county, for removing old bridge over Kankakee river; and also to draw upon Porter county for balance of $177.70 due Jasper county. Ordered for purpose of providing a revenue for the expenses of Jasper oounty for ensuing year, the levy of a tax of 35 cents on each SIOO valuation of taxable property in county. Amended terms of insuranoo policies upon court house so as to prohibit the use of building for public exhibitions, shows and theatrical performances. Entered of record specifications for a bridge over the Iroquois river at Lain son crossing, and directed the auditor to publish notice of the receival of sealed proposals for the building thereof. Ordered surveyor to make estimates for a grade to the south end of bridge ov cr Kankakee niter at Eaton's Ferry, and that Samuel McCullough supervise said work. Ordered surveyor to make estimates for the construction of abridge over Pinkamink river, petitioned for by Geo. M. Johnson et. al. Joseph D. Cowden was appointed to inspect the books and papers pertaining to the common school and the congressional school feeds of Jasper county to discover errors or discrepancies in reports prior to May 31st, 1876. Also authorized him to examine books of general fund to discover the discrepancy which appears in the land redemption fund. Continued claims es John Y. May, Jacob Jones, Charlotte and James Snoddy, Anthony Earls, Catharine Gray, B. R. Moffit, James Gray, D. C.
