Reed's drug-store, at New Cdrydon, was burglarized the other morning. The safe was blown open and SI,OOO in currency and several hundred dollars’ worth in notes and other valuables taken. Adolphus Bear, noted for, piety and -respected as one of Germantown’s—bestcitizens, attempted suicide a tew evenings ago by shooting himself through the head. His injuries were very severe and probably fatal. S
The Irish Catholic Benevolent Union of Indiana recently met at Indianapolis and elected the following officers; President, Edward Burns. Indianapolis; Secretary, Lawrence J. That night some one got into his room, abstracted $l4O and left a note -saying he would call for the balance some other night. The following were the postal changes in Indiana during the week ending Nov. 20, 1875: Discontinued—Corn-Stalk, Howard County. Postmasters appointed Big Indian, Cass County, James N. Long; Cartersburg, Hendrick County, A. S. Grave; Friendswood, Hendrick County, Jackson Jessup; Lamong, Hamilton County, David O.THycs ; Paragon, Morgan County, Mrs. Ann Byran; St. Omer, Decatur County, Israel D. Jewett. Philo Tucker, a young man living at /Spartenburg, in Randolph County, left Union City on the evening of the 10th for his home. About nine o’clock, when five miles out, passing a.dense woods, a masked robber,-armed w ith a heavy club and knife, sprang from the bush. Attacking first with the club, lie knocked Tueicer from liis liorse and then knifed him, inflicting a fatal wound. Tucker Weed himself. Regained liis saddle and was carried home by his liorse, escaping robbery. Secretary, Auditor and Treasurer of State.. Attorney-General, four Judges of the Supreme Court. Clerk of the Supreme Cou£t, ItePovter of the-Supreme Court and Superintendent of 'ttblic lustration to l>e chosen on the second Tuesday in October. 1876; also to select delegates to the next National Republican Convention anti fifteen Presidential Electors to be chosen on the first Tuesday in November. 1816. Upon the basis adopted by the Suite Central Committee tiie representation’is fixed at one delegate lor each 100 votes and one for each fraction over fifty votes cast in the several counties for W. W. Curry. Secretary of State, at the general election in October. 1872. County committees are requested to call county conventions on Saturday, the sth day of February next, for the purpose of appointing delegates on the above basis, with the view of having a full representation!
