Assessors’ Meeting.

The assessors of the several townships of/Jasper county met at the Auditor’s office on call of that officer March 30th, 1875, for the purpose of adopting a uniform rate of assessment so far as practicable for the current year, Mr, John Querry of Gillam township was elected chairman, and John M. Helmick of Wheatfield township was chosen secretary. Present of the assessors, Messrs. Mellender, of Hanging Grove, Querry, of Gillam, Daniels, of Walker-, Boroughs, of Marion, Yeoman, of Newton, Wilcox, of Keener, Wyant, of Kankakee, Helmick, of Wheatfield, Thompson, of Carpenter, and Comer, of Union.
