Much Interest to the Legal and Journalistic Professions.

The South Bend daily 7>ifrune after publishing the fact that Hon. Jasper Packard has sued the editors of this paper for libel, says: Inasmuch as there were no sources of information from which the editor could derive his knowledge, the article bears the impress of malice upon its face, and as Mr. Packard will retire from his office on March 4th, the object of the article will be a source of considerable speculation. The trial of the ease will come off sometime during the spring, and will unquestionably be one of much interest to the legal and journalistic professions. Mr. Packard is at present at Washington in the discharge of his official duties.
