Compiled from the Journal. John Stephens's team ran away one day last week and dilapidated a buggy. Two car loads of soldiers passed through Rcniingto on Wednesday of last week, en route for the frontier. Ute Jeffries, minus twenty-seven pounds of him whicli was gobbled up by a fever down in ’ Louisiana, returned home last week. Editor Snoddy and his family have been sick, which i§ the reason assigned for the faulty orthography in previous issues-of the Journal. Mr. D. J. Green has conic hack from Clue ago and brought with him a smiling “vissage,” whatever that may be, which he exhibits on the streets. „ Ed. F. Maxwell has resigned all pecuniary interest in the Journal , and is now convinced there is very little .fun, lots of hard' work, and mighty little money in a country uewspaper office.
