Board of Commissioners of Jasper county met in regular session in Auditor’s office September Ist, 1873. Present, Win. K. Parkison, Jared Benjamin and Samuel McCullough, Commissioners, Frank W. Babcock, Auditor, and -Lftwio -L. Daugherty. Sheriff. 1 J act > b M. T voxel! ackn ow 1 e dges indebtedness to the county of Jasper, as follows: Amount due at last settlem’t $333.38 Rent of Poor Farm for qr. ending August 31,1873, - - 79,25 Interest on balance due at last settlement, - » - 3.62 Total, - - - - §416.25 Cr, by ain’t paid into treas’v 92.21 Balance due, * - - - §324.04 Lucius Strong, trustee of Newton. township, petitioned for an appropriation of $125 to build a bridge over Curtis Creek on line dividing lands of John Yeoman and John E. Watson, in section 29, town 29, range 7, and the Board authorized said trustee to collect material and build said bridge at a cost not exceeding $125, and further authorized the Auditor to issue a warrant on the treasury for that amount upon completion of such structure. Appointed Win. K, Parkison agent of the Board to iet a contract for furnishing material and constructing a Wooden bridge, not to exceed in cost the sum of SSOO, over the Pinkainink river at the crossing of the new Davissonville and Gillam road. * Amended an order passed at the Juuc session ol the Board directing the Auditor to strike from the tax - ASduplicate the, stun of $51.25 assessed against Samson Erwin to read $ 16 38* that being the amount"erroneously assessed. , . “’County Treasurer L. C. Janes having submitted a list of taxes due from the following persons, together with a statement of the Trustees of the several townships in which said persons reside that the collection of said taxes would probably leave the parties named in a destitute condition, and make it necessary for the county to provide means for the support of these persons, it was ordered that the Auditor and • Trcasu rer drop from the duplicate all taxes now due and •charged as delinquent against R.
