Proceedings in Commissioners’ Court.

The Board of .Commissioners of Jasper county met in regular seslaqr, December 2d, 1872, aud'jgp--: mained in session six days. Present, Ww. K. Parkison, Jared Benjamin and. Samuel McQttllough, Commisioners, Frank W. Babcock, Auditor, and Lewis L. Daugherty,' Sheritf. The Auditor was instructed by the Board to correct the tax duplicate and relieve Mrs. Caroline Hbnkle of an erroneous assessment of. $350. A. J. Yeoman, ex-Sheriff of Jasper county, submitted a report of fees collected and paid over to Treasurer for . fractional quarter ending November stli, 1872. Said report shows that §320.20 waß assessed, that $150.45 was collected, that $169.75 remains unpaid and due, and that $35.30 taxed in previous quarters’was collected. Total collections for quarter 185.75. M. L. Spitlcr, Clerk of Jasper county, submitted his report of fees taxed, collected and paid into the treasury for the quarter ending November 30, 1872, winch shows that $502.95 was taxed (including previous quarter not paid), that $260.85 was collected, and that $241.20 remains unpaid. Lewis L. Daugherty, Sheriff of Jasper county, submitted report erf fees taxed, collected and paid into treasury for the fractional quarter ending November 30th, 1872, which shows that $33.49 taxed, $22.39 coliected, and sll.lO remains unpaid. Frank VV. Babcock, county Auditor, reports* fees taxed, collected and paid to Treasurer by him. for quarter ending November 30, 1872, to be $48.10 taxed, $37.35 collected, and $10.75 remains unpaid. Board ordered Auditor to correct tax duplicate and relieve Jonathan Peacock of an erroneous assessment of S6OO. r*> Granted licensed to sell intoxicating liquors in town of Remington, to L. L. Ford. Authorized Jared Benjamin to purchase 2,000 rails for the Uoufi!_ v Faria; L. W. ilenkle, county Treasurer, submitted report of funds loaned ami interest collected thereon, which shows that $203.27 was loaned and that $6.95 interest • had been collected; said amount belongs to the railroad moneys. _ The feitewing- allowances were made for services on the October election board of Marion township: D.
