Splendid sugar, sugar sand nnd fine candies for cake making at C. C. Starr's. Mr. J. M. Schofield ceased to be 'landlord ot the Eagle House, on Tuesday at noon. We are told that Mr. Dunlap, the jmopnetor of the hotel, intends soon to take charge nnd refit it for public accommodation.
Remember that the place to buy the Tea for the least money is at the agency of the Tea Company at Jloi'KlN’s CORNI.It. Hon. K. S. Dwi ggins, State senator for the bounties of Pulaski, White, Benton, Newton and Jasper, is quite sick at his residence in this place. He was not able to leave so as to be present at the opening of the legislature which convenes today. The assortment of Boots and Shoes at Konkin's Corner will be kept good in style, sizes and quality from the factory of L. Falley & Co’., of Lafayette, whose work is well known throughout the State. An elderly gentlemen sent into town yesterday and ordered his coffin, lie is in sound mind and good health, but wants to be - sure the work is well done and the undertaker’s charges are nos exhorbitant. Goods bought for cash must be sold for cash to buy again. Quick sales and small prollts will soon turn SlO,000 worth of goods ami keep the stpek new and fresh at Hopkin’s Corner. The large hall in ©hr Seminary was crowded with delighted spectators, all of whom catue away perfectly satisfied.— Should they ever visit our villag? again the house would not contain the crowd. In fact their complete success makes us feci quite proud as we have a warm atttachment for the people of Rensselaer. XYZ. P.
