A Singular Suicide.
Thb town of Half Moon, Saratoga county, N. Y., was recently the scene of one of the coolest and most desperate cases of suicide ever recorded- A boy named Norman Shaw, ** years, did something to Ottf'Jease his mother, who, after correcting him, arid that she would inform bis father of his conduct. Upon this the boy went and got the Bible, picked out a text from which he told he wanted his funeral semen preached, and telling his mother that she would never see him again, wont OUt. . spew. t- neaiß
This occurred about 10 G’clock.and the mother, deeming it aomefooUsh threat, went on with her work. Eleven o’clock came, and the boy not returning, his grandmother went in search of him. and found him in the wagon-house, with a strap about his neck, showing that he had committed suicide. He had fastened the strap to his neck, and then tied it 3o an ox-chain hsffiging from a beam, and climbed up on a partition and threw himself off, thus accomplishing his purpose.
