The recent Republican State Convention of lowa adopted the following resolutions: Resolved, That we refer with pride to the history of the Republican party, and congratulate the people o’ this country npon ita success'til career, ft has given to the poor man a homestead; It ha* abolished slavery and established manhood suffrage; crushed treason; glren us the Pad He Railroad ; aett ed tho doctrine or the right of expatriation ; maintained the honor, Integrity, and credit of onr nation. It baa vindicated the Monroe doctrine by preventing foreign powers from interfering with the government cn this continent, and to perpetuate Us power la the only safe guarantee for peace and prosperity In the future. Resolved, That we heartily endorse the honest, faithful, and economical administration of President Grant, by which enr national debt baa been so largely reduced. Revived, That a tariff for revenno Is indlapemabio, and ehonld be so adjusted as not to become prejudicial to the industrial Interests of any class oi section of the counlry, while secnrlrg to onr home producers fair c jmpetltlon with foreign capital and labor. Resolved, That we are opposed to any system or plan of grant'ng public lands to railroads or other corporations without ample provision being made for securing their speedy sale at moderate prices, and occupancy tipon-falr and liberal terms by any end all wno desire to pnrihase end retilo npon them. Resolved, That we are In favor of an economical and Judicious management of the afftlrs es the State, and with this view we Indorse the present admlnls ration of the Bute Government, and commond It to the favorable consideration of the people and the fntnro administrations.
