A Significant Incident.
An incident of much significance occurred at Frankfort, Germany, a few days since. The bank of that city, in the stringency’ of the money market, in order to negotiate a loan of $4,000,000 in gold; placed upon the Bourse five millions in American securities, to be held as a deposit against a loan. The administration of President Grant is working out the problem left us by the war. This is the first time in the history of the world that the strength of our government has been recognized on a financial basis entirely.
