Official notice has been given of the permanent removal of the capital of Nebraska from Omaha to Lincoln. On the 6th of June the people of Oregon will elect State officers for four years, a representative in Congress, members of the Legislature, and county and judicial officers. j The Tennessee legislature convened on the Oth, but neither House bad a quorum. The Alabama Republican Convention has been postponed from June 28 to August 80. It Will meet at Selina. The National Women’s Suffrage association met in New York city on the 10th. About 200 persons were present. Among the amendments to the Legiriative Appropriation bill adopted by th* Senate on the 11th was one for the enlargement of the Capitol grounds, at an expense of SOOO,OOO. Judge Thos. R. Butler has been elected Chief-Justice of Connecticut by the Legislature, vice Hinlan, deceased. The Maine Democratic State Convea tlon is called to meet in Portland on the 28th of June. An election was recently held in Vermont for members of a Constitutional Convention. The woman suffrage question was the main issue. A dispatch say<: “The convention will be composed of the strongest men in the State, and will be strongly, if not unanimously, opposed to woman suffrage.”
