Times very dull. Nobody’tVants office. More buildings needed. Religious excitement high. Every store-room and dwelling occupied. Lockwood is preparing for an extensive trade in larm machinery. Much talk of a steam flouring mill, This time it is to come from Kentucky. - We aro told that coal has been discovered in Jasper county, within three miles of Remington. The Methodist denomination are looking about for a location on which to build a meeting house. Topers complain that “Bascom’s” whiskey won’t make drunk come, but is mighty thin and tastes of slough water. Religious excitement continues Unabated, and Bibles are kept in every store and office, ready for theological combat. Last Sabbath it is reported they tracked down the wickedest man in town, captured him in his lair, and “snaked” him over 'to church, where, it is to be hoped, he became a wiser and better man.
