The following is the Preamble and Constitution al the Society of Prw gtesnivo Spiritualists of Rensselaer as adopted by them at their meeting «® the 2tth day of October, 1869; the purposes of social culture, amatol development and soul growth, and to units the odforta of those who are willing to co-operate In these objects, we hereby form ourselves into an association with the foltowing .“CoMßrmmoN. “AbtICUsI. This association shall bo knoWn as “The Society of Progressive Spiritualists of Rensselaer." “Abt. 9. The object of this Society shall be social culture, mental development and the investigation of the Spiritual philosophy. “Abt. 8. Persons may become members of this Society by signing this Constitution, and any member may withdraw at pleasure by signifying to the Secretary in writiug their desire to do so. “Abt. 4. Memberslmay pay such sums of money to defray the expenses of this Society as they feel able to pay. “Abt. 5. The officers shall consist of a President, Vice President. Secretary and Treasurer, who shall be elected at each annual meeting, and shall constitute a Board of Managers, and as such, shall have power to fill any vacancies that may occur. * “Art. fl. The annual meetings shall be held on the third Friday of October of each year.
