Our correspondent **L” Bends us under date of October llth, the following local items; Mrs. Mary A. wifo of Russel Wilbur, Esq., proprietor of the Wilber House, died last night between seven and eight o’clock. She had been sick for about three weeks. The corpse will be sent to-morrow to Piper City, 111., for burial. Mr. Louis A Ford and Miss Ellenor J. Southard were married last evening at the residence of the bride’s father, Mr. John Southard, by Justice B. B. Jeffries. The happy couple are doing as well this morning as oould be expected under the circumstances. Our market quotations are as follows: Wheat 80 @ 95, corn 50 @ 00, oats 35, rye 70, flour 17.50 per bbl, potatocs_2s @ 85 apples 25 @ 100, onions 75 @ 100. S | —■* An oyster festival is to be held at the Salem School House, in Newton county, seven miles west of Rensselaer, on next Saturday night —October 16th, 1869. Proceeds to be 4iscd in repairing the grave yard. Everybody invited. Canned Peaches— a large lot for sale cheap at C. C. Starr’s. A. Leopold still flourshes, and can be found at all times at his establishment opposite McCoy <fc Thompson’s Bank, selling first class goods. It is wonderful what an amount of business is done by him and it would seem incredible were it not for ?thc fact that Mr. Leopold orders just such goods as are demanded by his customers. New consignment of Tea, Coffee and Sugar, at C. C. Starr’s. Attention is called to the advertisement of Messrs. Willey <fc Sigler in another column. In addition to tho large stock of ready made clothing, dry goods and groceries, they have opened a boot and shoe shop in the next"door below Jackson’s drug store, and have placed ti in charge of Mr. Wix, who is a drat class workman.
