Silver in a considerable quantity has been discovered ou a farm within a short distance of Corydon. Two hundred thousand dollars of Terre Haute capital is invested iu beef cattle, now feeding on the prairie. Near Jonesboro, on the Union and Logunsport railroad, there was lately dug up, iu a gravel bank, the skeletons ol five Indians. Their tomahawks were also found near by. .More tobacco has been grown in Southern Indiana the present year than in any single year in the jiast. From gentleman who are well posted in this great staple who have lately traveled extensively iu the southern*part of the State, we learn that the farmers report the crop the best they have ever raised. This is especially true in the counties of Spencer, Perry, Warrick, Gibson, Pike and Dubois. The crop' will be a most important one to tliift section of the Slate the present year.
