SBC. 1, Re it orilaiueil by tiie J’resicieut and Trustees us the Town of Rensselaer*lll council assembled, that it is lureby made the duty of tiie Marshal to call out all persons residing itt said town, liable to work on tiie roads or highways, during' two days in tiie month* of July or August of the present.year, and simll require such persons ti> work on the streets of said town eight hours each dny and furnish in sueli labor any lowL/tlie Marshal shall direet. provided, that any person who lias during tiie present year in obedience to the call any Supervisor, worked, or paid for two days work, on any road or roads in Marion township, Jasper county, Indiana, shall not be required by the Marshal during the present year to work on the streets in said town, and if any such person shall during the present year, have worked or paid for work on any sneir road or roads for any period of less than two days, sueli person simll be required by the Marshal to work for such time only on tiie streets of said town as will complete said two days. The Marshal with (belabor provided for in tbo first section of this ordinance, shall as far as practicable clear out all the ditches along the streets in the town and shall place the streets and crossings in as good condition as tiie-amount of such labor will admit, of; and shall at the regular meetings'of the Board of Trustee#, in August and .September of the present yt ar, report the amount of work done, the amount of money collected in lieu of work, and how sueli money lies been expended: and where his duties are not otherwise -prescribed in this ordinance, lie shall as far as practicable be governed by tiie laws now iu force regulating tiie duties of. supervisors of highways.
