From thence it Is to jrtws through the counties of Marion, (possibly touch Hamilton), Boone, Clinton, Carroll, White, Jasper and Lata to some point on the Illinois State line. No intermediate pointe were named, but It was understood tlwit the road would passthrough Frankfort, Delphi, either Monticello or Reynolds, Rensselaer, and either Crown Point or Lowqll. The Indianapolis Journal, in speaking of the election of Mr, Ridenour as President of the Company, and of the prospects of the enterprise, says, - «Wu du not bualtat* to say that tbe appolntmtnl i» certainly a moat fortunate one for tbe Company, m ao railroad man of our State baa given better evidence us bia capacity aa a financier and railroad manager than baa Mr. Rldenonr. He baa now bad many years experience in railroad matters, practically, and hie untiring energy and nori in puabing through tbe Junction rood, is a gaaraoty of eoeceae In thia enierpriao, if bo ia aupported by tho people on tbe line who are interacted in the result. In accepting tbe position we understand lir. Ridenour gave notice to tbe meeting, that be took the position only on condition of tbo active and earnest support of tho counties on tbo line, and would expect from them liberal subscriptions to be speedily made, and If there waa hesitancy or dragging in their work, they must look for acme other President. But if they actively did tbrir duty, bo would be found doing bio at all Umoa, with proper energy.— I Mr. Ridenour takes tbia position as an independent undertaking, and entirely disconnected with any other railroad, and wo doubt not tbo success es this great enterprise, and tbe speedy completion of tbo work it tbe counties interested do their duty. “The enterprise starts with every prestige of asKceee, and meat make a valuable lino of rri Iroad, not only to thia city, to which it will bring a large new trade, but to tbo intermediate country from boro to Chicago it is an actual necessity. We expect to bear good reports from the people of the counties thiougb which tbialiM peeeso as to their liberality in making donations for the work. When thio line is completed it will bo tbe shortest railway line from CbaUaaooga, and other points Booth, to tho North and Northwest, and will bo a great connecting link of tho extensive railway eystemof thia city and (Chicago.” LATER.
