Coats la building an addition to liia dwelling on Van Rensselaer afreet. > The weather is quite chilly and but little oom has been planted in the county, yet. Auditor Ira W. Yeoman is building an addition to his residence on Van Rensselaer street The City Fathers have decided to raise but S3OO taxes this year. Not much margin for perqs there. . Mr. Alfred Thompson is remodeling hia dwelling house and raising it, one story higher. School Directors, or others, wishing to employ a teacher can learn of one of some experience by applying at this office. M-ts Bacon sides sell for 17ccntsa pound, fresh beef 10 to 16 cents, butter 20 cents and eggs 10 cents a dozen, in Rensselaer. . r Mr. J. J. Waterbury, is In town prospecting. He has about concluded to come back and open a tailor shop. Wo wish he would. John Shanklin, formerly of Rensselaer, has recently been appointed foreman of the job department in the government printing office, at Washington. Tire Board of Town Trustees elected Marshal Frank J. Purcupile Town Clerk, at their session Tuesday evening, vice M. F. Chilcote who failed to qualify. Mr. 8. Haley has purchased the Widow Babcock property, on Front street, and is putting up a good fence around it and making other improvements. Mr. John Thompson, Sr., has been putting a new fence In front of his residence on Front street, setting it in to conform with the last survey of the town, and has made other improvements. Dr. Ira C. Kelley, lias removed his office from over C. C. Starr’s Grocery to his residence on Front street, opposite the mill, in the Raphel J. Hopkins property. We can recommend Dr. Kelley as a £<xm! Dentist— All who require the services of his profession will do well to patronize him.
