Bastardy.
On Monday of this week, William Daugherty had a preliminary hearing before Justice S. P. Howard, of Rensselaer, on a charge of bastardy made by Nancy A. Ball. Daugherty gave bail in the the sum of S9OO to appear at the next term of the Circuit Court. Both •parties belong to respectable families and have hitherto borne good reputations. will be seen by refcrance to an advertisement headed “Copartnership,”l that a new firm has commenced business in our place. Mr. Willey is well known as a pleasant man to deal with, and as strictly honest in all his transactions. Mr. Sigler is a stranger here, but from his appearance is equally agreeable as his partner.
