The fair, mild weather which set In the last of January and continued nntil the middle of the present month,, wss succeeded last Wednesday with another spell of winter. Thursday morning found the ground covered with a coating of snow which did not melt during the day. Thursday night more Was added, and still more Saturday night, and Monday night brought another flurry so that now there is a spot or more on the ground. Ground bog’s day seems to have been a failure this year. By-the-way, our friend Connor, of the Kentland Gazelle is informed that ground hogs are made into sausages, when pork is run through a sausage mill and properly seasoned. --~ • - JTjgT'lt is the interest and duty of every citizen to see that his taxes are promptly paid, when they fall due. In this way the county may be kept out of debt and the payment of large interest is saved.— The past year has bc.en unusually favorable tb all classes. The seasons were propitious, health was good and produce has found an active and remunerative market. In view of these facts, our gentlemanly and efficient county Treasurer, Mr, Thos. Boroughs, has issued hi.s “Notice to Delinquent TaxPayers,” which is published in another column, and. to which attention is directed.
