POULTRY DISEASES.

Establish.your poultry houses and yard on dry. sandy or gravelly piece of ground, if possible; otherwise, keep them ns dry as practicable by means of ditches. Keep the inside of ibe fowl bouse absolutely dry. FurnLli gravel, if ibere is not plenty in the soil. Keep houses, roosts and ne«ts free fr,.m lice by using whitewash on an i in the honse. 'Kerosene on the roosts and tobacco, sulphur or sjssafras bark in the nests and with a good tonic through the moulting season, you may bid defiance to disease. A good constant tonic is the Douglas mixture, made as follows: 1 IL. sulphate of iron, 2 ox. sulphuric acid, 1 gal. soft water, mix and dissolve. Give daily, through moulting season in the autumn or spring, one or two teaspoonfuls to each pint of water. The coet is but a trifle, while their increased health and vitality as evinced by their songs and red combs and wattles will well repay yon.
