A Texas Sheep Ranch.
Jackson (Texas) Guide. Mr. John 8. Harris, who has his sheep ranch on Snake Creek, seven miles east of Jacksboro, has a stock of 1,200 head of graded sheep. About two weeks ago he imported sixty head of fUll-blooded American Merino rams and ten head of Cote wold. This is one of the beet graded stocks of sheep In our country, and thoroughly kept up on the scientific sheep-raising system. The average yield of wool Is about ten Eounds to a sheep, while he has 250 ead that will yield from twenty to twenty-five pounds each. Mr. Harris comes from a sheep-raising county in Missouri, and says this country for sheep-raising cannot be surpassed anywhere. He takes pride in improving his stock of sheep, and has good shelters for them during the winter which is a new Idea to old Texans. '
