About The Judgeship.
Some time ago The Republican mentioned the names of three legal gentlemen of Rensselaer 1 who would probably be candidates for the Republican nomination for the office of circuit judge, in case Judge Wiley should signify bis intention of resigning. One of these three was Capt. R. W. Marshall. He is now in Wyoming, and ei attorney for some parties who have a valuable mine involved in litigation, be is likely to be detained there for some time, and may not get back until convention weak; but in any c?se as be authorizes us to say, he will not make any personal canvass, nor contest of any kind for the nomination. If it should be tendered him, he would accept, and greatly appreciate the honor, bat, as above stated, will make no personal efforts to secure it.
