Application for License. Notice Is hereby given to the citizens of the second ward in the City of Rensselaer, the citizens of the City of Rensselaer. Indiana, and the citizens of Marion Township. Jasper County, Indiana, that the undersigned, George A. Strickladen. a male inhabitant of the Statoof Indiana and over the age of twenty-one. years and lias been'and is of good moral character, not in the habit of becoming Intoxicated and a lit person in every respect to be intrusted with the sale of intoxicating liquors and has been a continuous resident of said township for over ninety days last past and that this applicant Is tlie actual owner and proprietor of said business and will be such if license be granted, will apply to the Board of Commissioners of said Jasper County. Indiana, at their September term, 1896. said term commencing on Monday. September 7th 1896. fora license to sell and barter spirituous, vinous, malt and all other intoxicating liquors in a less quantity than a quart at a time, with the privilege of allowing and permitting the same to be drank on the following premises toWit: • - The precise location of the premises on which the undersigned desires to sell and barter with the privilege of allowing the same to be drank thereon, Is in a one story brick, building, one hundred and ten (110) feet long by thirty-six (36) feet wide, on Van Rensselaer street and situated on lot number four (I), block number (4). of the original plat of Rensselaer. Indiana, and the room in said building in which ho desires to sell is specifically by outside measurement described as follows. Beginning one hundred and six'ty-six ami one half (166 X feet, north-westerly from the westerly corner of Washington street and Van Rensselaer street, thence northwesterlyAn Van Rens seiner street thirty-six (36) feet, thence westerly parallel with Washington street eighty (80) feet, thence south-easterly parallel with Van Rensselaer street thirty-six (36) feet, thence easterly parallel with Washington street eighty (BQ) feet, io the place of beginning. That the said described room is separate from any other business of any kind and that no devices for amusement or music of any kinder character is in said room and that there is no partition or partitions in said room; that the Said room can lie secure'y closed and locked and admission thereto prevented; that said room is situated upon the ground Hour and fronts on Van Rensselaer street. In said City of Rensselaer, Indiana, ami is so arranged with glass whitlows and glass doors so tliat the whole of said room may be viewed from said street. The said applicant will also at the time and place of applying for said license tuake a further request for tlie grant of a privilege to establish, maintain and run a lunch counter and supply those desiring with a full fneal of ail kinds of edibles in tlie above described room and in connection witlt the said sale of liquors and will ask for the privilege of soiling tobacco and cigars in connection therewith.
