The Sin of Deception.
Ide not at all, neither in a little thing nor In a great, neither in the substance nor In the circumstance, neither iii word nor deed; that Is, pretend not what Is false, cover not wha4,is true, and let the measure of your affirmation or denial be the understanding of yqur contractor; for be that deceives the buyer or the seller by speaking what is true in a sense not Intended or understood by the other is a liar and a thief. For in bargains you are to avoid not only what Is false, but that also which deceives.—Jeremy Taylor. Liberty.—The development of man through the training school of nations is a part of God’s plan. In the growth and extension of ideas is , found the great law of historical race evolution. Past nations have attempted to build on a false view of the rights of man—on caste, culture, law. The stone of this republic was laid on a new doctrine —that of personal liberty, the right of conscience, freedom of speech and the free ballot of the citizen.—Ref. A. C.
