The second annual reunion of the Mexican Veterans’ National Interstate Association was held at Lexington, Ky. Tbos. H. Clay, grandson of Henry Clay, presented a gavel to the association made from ash grown at Ashland, his grandfather’s home. He said his grandfather was opposed to the annexation of Mexican territory and that oppo»ition cost him the presidency. Miij. Samuel L. McFarih, of Logansport, Ind., addressed the veterans on the history of the association, and when he sal’d he hoped another war would come which would free suffering Cuba the old soldiers cheered lustily.
