A Kick for Each Name.
“Hang Theology" Rogers, the distinguished English philanthropist who died recently at 77, got his nickname from calling out "Hang economics! Hang theology!" at a school board meeting where theoretical questions hindered progress. His Independent and energetic character may be inferred from this story of his youthful days: A new boy came to school dressed in a light blue jacket faced with velvet, white trousers and waistcoat, and a turned down collar and frills. Rogers went np to him and asked him his name.- Ths &»y replied^ Stuart Vane, Viscount Seaborn, and my father is the marquis of Londonderry.* Whereupon Rogers kicked him three times, once for Vane, once “for Seaham, and once for Londonderry.
