After the Professional Tax Dodger.
Capt D. F. Allen, of Frankfort, who has charge of the tax assesments for northern Indiana writes to the enumerators in his district to assess property at its full cash value. He says in a circular letter: “While you cannot compel a taxpayer nnder the law to fill them out, yet where a person refuses you have your remedy by summoning such party to appear before the board of review and there make a full and satisfactory statement, or refuse to allow any reduction; Unearth sequestered property, bring tlie professional “tax-dodger to book,” mete out evenhahded justice alike to the rich and poor, the corporation and individual, and in discharging your duties and executing the law ‘the true cash value’ of property be your only guide.”
