What Foolish Superstitions.
It was developed during a farmers institute at Rochester, tl lat the agriculturists consult the moon’s phases a great deal, believing ths.t Luna exerts much influence over their harvests. One man stated that he always sowed clover seed in tho “dark” of the moon, so that the plants would root down and withs tand the drough. Another said he wanted to “sign” the loins so that the dry would not “slobber” his horses.
