All milk shall be strained through wire ! cloth strainers and shall be cooled to 58 degrees within forty-five (45) minutes after it is drawn from the cow. In winter weather said cooler should be guarded agatost freezing. The milk shall not exceed do degrees when delivered, to the consumer or dealer. 15. All milk cans delivered, to creameries or dealers in the city shall be covered with air-tight, lids., and when conveyed, in open wagons shall be covered with canvas .while being so conveyed, said canvas to be kept otean by frequent washr ing. 15, All stripping, &S well as first part of milk, shell be delivered. No milk shall be delivered that is taken from a cow that calved within twelve (12) days, ior from a cow that will come in or calve inside of sixty (60) d»>s. 17. Cows shall not be fed on feed which will impart a dis&gre* able flavor ito milk, or upon any food which will not produce milk o! a standard rich-jaes-i, or any sour, damaged feed or ensilage. It shall be the duty of any -person having charge or control of any premises upon which cows are (kept to notify the Secretary of the -‘Board of Health of the existence of any contagious or infectious disease motor such cows immediately upon the discovery thereof, and to tliorODghly isolate any cow affected, and !to exercise such other precautions as may be directed, in writing, by the saiil Secretary. 19. It shall be the duty of any •person owning or having control of cows used for the production of milk ; for sale or exchange to submit said cows to th“ tuberculin test for tuberculosis, on the written order of the Secretary of the Board of Health.
Coutagious-Mseases. 1 20. It shall be the duty of any persoa having chaise or control of any premises upon, which milk or cream is produced, handled, stored or ‘distributed, to notify the Secretary 'of the Board of Health immediately 'upon the discovery of any case of -Asiatic cholera, croup, diptheria, measles, membranous croup, scarlet fever, small-pox, typhoid fever, typhous fever, or any other contagious or infectious diseases upon such premises- No milk or cream shall be sold, exchanged, given away, or in any other manner distributed from such infectious premises until all danger of spread of disease shall be removed and the Secretary certifies to that effect. No person who attends cowsor milks them, os who has the care or handling of vessels for the sale, storage or distribution of milk or cream, shall enter any place or premises wherein exists any of the diseases mentioned herein, nor shall any snch. have any communication, direct or •iadiTOSt, with«#fy pstiwwi who resides in or is an occupant of such infected place. Strict cleanliness of the bands and person of milkers and those engaged in the handling of milk or cream, and of the bodies of cows, especially of the udders and teats, mast be enforced at all times, to the end that no imparity or foreign substance may be added to the milk or cream, snch addition being declared adulteration by the statute. 21. No person shall add water or any other foreign snbstanoes to milk or cream offered or intended for sale or exohange. Milk offered for sale as whole milk or sold as such, which contains more than eighty-seven (87) per cent, of watery fluid, or less than thirteen (18) per cent, of milk solids including three and seven-tenths (3.7) per cent of butter fat, is prima facie watered, and such watering is declared an adulteration by the State Statutes, the punishment for whioh is a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each and every offense.
