REMINGTON ITEMS. A quiet wedding occured at the Presbyterian parsonage last Saturday evening. Mr. Wm. Kenyon and Miss Grace Emery were the contracting parties. Only the nearest friends of the bride and groom were present Miss Mable Parker ii visiting In Chicago, this week. Mrs.. Louis Earb is building a new house on North New York et. Mrs. Graham still continues quite ill. ... ■ -V , ' -■ Mrs. Josephine Emery was called to 111. Monday by the serious illness of her mother, Mrs* Rank. Mrs. Hattie Thomas has gone to take a position as fore-woman in a dressmaking establishment in Attica. If she and “the place" are mutually agreeable she may remain some time. M. P. Helm visited in Crawfordsville over Sunday. Mr. Rice of Attica, was the guest of Miss Kitty Parker last week. Mrs. Bell Skiff of Watseka, visited her mother and sister last week. The “delegates” Messrs. Dickerson and Wymer from our neighboring town met with rather a “chilling reception” at the school building when they came to attend the “school exhibit session” owning to the failure on the part of the janitor to provide sufficient heat to Warm up the mercury. However in spite of “overcoats" and cold chills a most pleasent and profitable session was passed, and adjourned to meet in Goodland next Saturday. Lee Carl, the little lad, who had scarlet fever earlier in the season, is now quite sick with pneumonia. George Griffin, after a fornights vacation will again re-enter the implement bnisness at the “Corner Blacksmith shop on South Ohio St. Mrs. Yogel who was called to Pulaskiville, near Cleaveland by the death of her father Mr. Elans, has returned home. Alf Snyder now, fills the position of operator for the W. U. Telegraph Co. here in place of Mr. Blassingham. Mrs. Davis was called to Burnettsville by the serious illness of her sister-in-law who we learn has since died. She returned home Monday. Mr. Geo. Fisher has been in Chicago last week visiting his sister. Mrs. A. Elmore and Mrs. Geo. Cummings are on the sick list this week. Music loving people will be glad k> welcome Miss Gertrude Spargue, with the Smalley Grand Concert Co., back to Rensselaer- Any that had the pleasure of hearing her last summer with “The Chicago Rivals” will not miss this second opportunity. She has a national reputation.
