The Town; Board.
The report of Messrs. Alter, Coen and Rhoades, the committee of the Board appointed to visit neighboring towns and inspect their electric light plants, with a view of gaining facto and figures bearing on the question of the advisibiiity of the town’s purchasing the plant now here. wm received. The members of the committee visited Mpnticello, Delphi, Logsnaport and Hammond. They report as toe result of their investigation that they believe that the tows ought to own and control its own light and that thereby a saving to the consumer of from 25 to fifty per cent' On the point of advisability Of the purchase of the present plant, the committee reports that the purchaM of a plant by the town would he followed by such a large increase in patrons of thelights, that the present ptsai would not be large enough to*supply the demand. No definite action was taken with the report, noy with the proposition of the owners of the plant to sell it to the town.
The report of the viewers G. M. Robinson, F. French and B. Harris, on the tile ditch along the east corpo- - ration line, was received. The ditch extends from some distance north of the railroad south to the river. It la to' be composed of 8, 12 and 16 inch tiles. The county commissioners were given permission to use, in the ap)roaches to the new bridge near the creamery, the dirt to be taken in cutting down Kannal street, from Peter Rhoades’ place, to the river.
