In accordance to our long estab lished custom, as the year draws to a closb we have gathered and here present to our readers, a summary of the building operations in Rensselaer for the year 1895. Both in number of new residences and in the total amount expended, it is one of the best, if not the bi st, years in our history. The figures which we give below, are mostly obtained from the owner* themselves, from the builders, or froln others whose judgment can be depended*upon. In some few cases especially of minor improvements, the figures are only estimates, but they are not far enough out of the way to materially - affect the grand total; which is $106,000. The building of cement walks and street crossings has been another notable feature of improvements .The total/amount expended for them woultUbe not less than S4OOO. The peimanent improvement of Weston cemetery has also made notable progress, and has cost SBOO.
