Philadelphia, Nov. 19.—The argu--1 ments for a new trial in the case of the convicted murderer, Holmes, was heard yesterday in the criminal court before Judge Arnold, who tried the case. Decision was reserved. During the proceedings Mr. Shoemaker, one of Holmes’ counsel, was found to have introduced a false affidavit and was held to answer.
