ABOUT THE COURT HOUSE.
Its Condition to be Examined by An Architect. i ■ n. The cracks, gaps and bulges in the walls of the court house as well as the leak*. in the roof have been becoming more evident lately, and it is just possible that the late earthquake had some «fleet upon the rather ani’cient ami considerably dilapidated structure. The great danger the county records are in, in case of fire in the court house, has also been the subject of much solicitude, and as a result of these circumstances the county commissioners held a special session Monday, to consider what action, if any, had better be taken in the matter, and as a result of their deliberations, the following order was entered on the records: In the matter of court house the board now makes the following order: “
Whereas. The Honorable U. Z. Wiley, Jddge of the Jasper Circatt Court and other citizens and county officers have called the attention of this board to the unsafe condition of the court bouse, and the board, having personally examined the same, and find that the walls are badly cracked and sprung, and the roof m leaking condition, and the board being unable to fully determine the extent of repairs needed to make the same safe without the full examination being made by some architect. Therefore it is ordered by the board that some competent architect be employed to make a full examination of the said court house and report in writing as to its condition, at the December aes-don of this board.
