A boycott, indorsed by the United Trades and'Labor* Council, bns been declared by the Malsters and Brewers’ Union of Buffalo against beer manufactured by breweries taking their malt from the local private maltsters. The maltsters have refused to concede the demands of the union, hence the boycott. Secretary Smith has denied the application of the Chicago, Milwaukee and *Bl, Paul Railroad Company for refunding 115,335 deposited by the company to pay for the right of way across the great Sioux reservation in South Dakota.
