Five women who had been attending a Dunkard meeting at Ottawa, Kan., were thrown from a carriage by runaway horses. All were seriously and one fatally injured. By the explosion of a boiler in a sawmill near Paris, Texas, George Johnson, the colored engineer, was torn to fragments. Two farmers standing near were fatally hurt.
