Death of Joseph Robinson.
‘ Uncle Joe” Robinson, whose health has been very poorly for many months past, but who more lately, seemed to be considerably improved, took a sudden change for the worse, on Tuesday night of last week, and last Monday morning passed away, about 6 o’clock. He was bom near Utica, N. Y., Jan. 2nd, 1815. Married, Sept. 27, 1837, in Summit Co., Ohio, to Loretta Aldrich, who still survives, and with whom he lived in wedlock for
the long period of more than 58 years. Five children were born to them. The Charles L. Robinson, was killed in battle during the great war. The others are: Jane Marion, wife of Tbos. Thompson; George M., and Oliver P., residents of Rensselaer, and Welcome D., of Hammond.
In religion he was born and raised a Quaker. In politics he was always an earnest and unswerving Republican. In private character he was rigidly honest, amiable, kind-hearted. In short a thoroughly good man. He moved to this county in 1864, and lived for many years on a farm, a short distance east of Rensselaer; and for the last few years has had his residence in the east part of town. His age was 80 years, 9 months and 20 days. The funeral was held at the residence, Tuesday afternoon, Rev. R. D. Utter conducting the leligious services. Interment was in Weston oemetery. It was a large funeral.
