We regret to be called npon to announce that Wm. H. Gwin, whose sickness was mentioned last week, died yesterday morning, at his home in Marion Tp., a few miles southeast of town. His funeral will be held today, Thursday, at the residence, under the direction of Rensselaer Post, G. A. R. Mr. a member cf Company A, of the 87th Indiana regiment, holding the rank of a Lieutenant, and was a brave and faithful soldier in war, as he has been a good citizen in. in peace. A more extended sketch will be given next week. Quite an important deal in Rensselaer business property was concluded this week. J. F. Iliff has sold to Robert White, of Wilmington, lil., his livery barn, on Van Rensselaer street, and also the lot occupied by James Cox’s feed store, and the ad joining lot, reaching through to Cullen street. The price paid for all the property is $4775. Mr. Iliff retains his teams apd outfit and will have possession of the stable until next April, after which time he thinks of removing to Crown Mr. Cox will also retain the feed store until April. It is likely tint Mr. White will either build a new barn or thoroughly remodel the o'd one.
