Handley. -- . >.•' t j Mrs. Frank O’Connor, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Meehan, and otberrefatives here. . - Frank Clowery will imve into Jim Clowery’s house on the north gravel road. Mr 3. A. J. Blood returns to her home in Council Bluffs, lowa, Tliurs day. She will be accompanied on her return trip as far as Chicago, by Miss Stella Griffin and Master Harold Bowman. Rev. Miekels, the new M. E. pastor, preached his first seimon here, Sund*}' in. ;r.ling, to a large and attentive audience, who were greatly pleased by his discourse. A traveling ‘ fakir” bit a number ©f our prominent citizens Monday to the tune of S2O or $25 each. It was the same old game of selling medicine and giving back, the cash which has been played so frequently before. Ezra Bowman loaded his car Monday for Anderson. Mr. Bowman is a most estimable eitizon and we regret deeply that he is leaving us, and wish him all manner of success iu his new home. The family with the exception of Miss Maude who will remain a couple of weeks, left Wed nesday for lheir new home. Little Misses Mabel and Millie Clowery left Tuesday to spend the winter with their aunt, Miss Josie O’Conner, in Logansport. Mrs. S. M. Bond returned from Chicago last Saturday evening. Mr. Charles Maxwell whose visit here a couple of weeks ago was accidentally from these items, was a former Remington boy and is well remembered by our people here. He states that his mother died in July last. Mrs. Maxwell had a great many warm friends here who are deeply pained to hear of her death. Mrs. Lccklider will hold a fall and winter opening beginning Tuesday, Oct. 15th, and continuing till the 19th at the Emporium.
