Death of Hon. Wm. Dahncke.
The sad news reached Rensselaer yesterday morning, that Bon. Wm. Dahneke, of Wheatfield, died Tuesday afternoon. The particulars of his sicknes3 and death have not been received. He has long been troubled with asthma, and also subject at times to sudden attacks of stomach trouble. Mr. Dahneke was one of the best known and most highly esteemed citizens of the “north tier,” and of which he has long been a resident. At the general election last fail he was elected on the Bepublican ticket to the responsible and honorable office of County Commissioner for the First Commissioners’ District, but he had not yet entered upon the duties of the office, his term not beginning until December of the present year.
