Application for License.
“ Notice is hereby given to the citi;zens of the Town of Rensselaer and Marion Township, in Jasper County, .Indiana, that the undersigned George A. Strickfaden, a male inhabitant of the State ot Indiana and over the age of twenty one years and has been and is of good moral character, not in the habit of becoming intoxicated and a fit person in every respect to be intrusted with the sale of intoxicating liquors and has been a continuous resident of said township for over ninety days last past an&that this applicant is the actual owner and proprietor of said business and will be such if license be will apply to the Board of Commissioners of said Jasper County, Indiana, at their September term, 1895, said term commenciqgon Monday, September 2nd, 1895, for a license to sell and barter spirituous, vinous, malt and all other intoxicating liquors in than a quart at a time, with the privilege of allowing and permitting the same to be drank on the following premises to-wit: The precise location of the premises on which the undersigned desires to sell and barter with the privilege, of allowing the same to be drank thereon, is in a one story brick building, one hundred and ten (110) feet long by thirty-six (35) feet wide, on Van Rensselaer street and situated on lot number four (4), block number [4] x>f the original plat of Rensselaer, Indiana, and more precisely described AS follows: / -
Beginning one hundred and sixtysiyand one half [l66|] feet, northwesterly from the westerly corner of Washington street and Van Rensselaer street., thence northwesterly on VanRensselaer street, thirty-six [36] feet, thence westerly parallel with Washington street eighty [Bo] feet, thence south easterly parallel with Van Rensselaer street thirty six [36] feet, thence easterly parallel with Washington street eighty [Bo] feet, to the place of beginning. That the said described room is separate from any other business of any kind and that no devices for amusement or music of any kind or character is in said room and that there is no partition or partitions in said room; that the saidroom can be securely closed and locked and admission thereto prevented; that said room is situated upon the ground floor and fronts on Van Rensselaer street, in said Town of Rensselaer, Indiana, and is so arranged with glass windows and glass doors so that the whole of said room may be viewed from the said street. The said applicant will also at the time and place of applying for said license make a further request for the grant of a privilege 19 establish, maintain and run a lunch c‘- unter and supply those desiring with a flu. 1 °f ad kinds of edibles in the abv ve . described room and in connection wii£ the said sale of liquors and will ask sos the privilege of selling tobacco and c2* gars in connection therewith.
