Jonas F. Johnson, 45, was run over and killed by a switch engine at Bloomington, Ill. Frank Kelly, 24, was killed at Amsterdam, N. Y., while trying to jump on a freight train. Noah Garrett and the horse which he was riding were killed by lightning near Owingsville, Ky. Sunday afternoon witnessed one of the most fearful accidents that have ever occurred in Williamstown, Mass., when a carriage was struck by a train at the “Dunaway” crossing, and four of the six occupants were killed. Arthur Melcher, a painter, 22, was drowned at Milwaukee, Wis. Engineer Mark Wickens, who went down with the Santa Fe bridge at Monument, Colo., died, making the total number of fatalities thus far four. Brakeman Gardner is rapidly failing and is not expected to survive. The others injured are doing well. Frank Evans and Joseph West, of Chicago, alleged burglars, escaped from jail at Miffintown, Pa. , The State Game Warden seized 120 gill nets with four tons of fish at Cleveland, Ohio. The owners will be arrested. The City Connell of Elyrin, Ohio, ordered n special election to authorize the issue of bonds for $190,000 to buy a system of waterworks. Sentence was deferred in the case of John S. Collins, the negro who shot and killed Frederick Ohl, a Princeton student, at Trenton, N. J
