The body found dead in a field near Toledo is supposed to be that of Amirovich Lassilla from Lntnvia, n Russian province in Finland. He is supposed to hnve been a wealthy tourist. The Assembly of Montevideo has voted $2,000,(XX1 to increase the numbers and efficiency of the army, which will be raised by fresh taxation. This step has been taken in view of the alleged troubles between Chili aud Argentine. The London Times has a long telegram from Havana, which snya that Government troops continue inactive, alleging that they have an order to net only on the defensive. Thnes says that the newspapers there have alarming news from Macedonia. It is asserted that the revolution is spreading, and that two towns and three villages have been' burned by insurgent bands, who are successfully operating in the districts of Strumitza, Maleshevo and Drama. It is said that the Turks have 'sent a considerable f bree of Kurdish cavalry into the first named-districts -' M.
