FROM KNIMAN.
Hay making has begun. The wheat and rye has been har* vested and will be about one half a usual yield. We had a fine rain last Sunday evening. Charles Smith who is in business at Brazil Ind. -spent the Fourth with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith of this place. F. M. Hershman is putting down a new well in his pasture. He is down over one hundred feet and must still go deeper to get water. There was a large crowd at this place on the Fourth. Everything passed off quietly and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves.
Wilson Meiser is home for a. vacations Valparaiso where he has been attending school. Our Trustee is having the school houses of our township painted and fixed up generally inside. This is a good move in the right direction. Jacob Wenrick is doing the work. D. M. Peer is building a new grainery. Miss Lillie Hoshaw is pretty low with consumption. Lewis Hamilton and family are at home again after a short vacation, visiting friends and tending to business at Rensselaer. Freddie and Hannah Hasselbring, of Watseka 111. are taking a vacation here among the young people.
