DeMOTTE ITEMS.
Miss Aggie Frame is home on a visit after being away for some months. A new side walk has been laid from Mrs. Effle Fairchilds the full length of Lillie street south. Mrs. Davisson’s new house is completed and now occupied by Wm. Geary. The band boys have got new caps and are talking of getting suits out and out. We would be glad to see them out in new uniform as we believe we can truly say that there is not a band in Indiana that is taking the pains to learn and that is making a better progress than they are. Mrs. Frank Wood and Miss Robinson, of Rensselaer, were visiting at MrL Trozell’s last week. There will be an ice cream social in the school house grove Saturday evening, June 29, for the benefit of the Mutual Fiiends Library. All are cordially invited to attend. Come one, come all, as there will be other entertainments that will be both surprising and entertaining to both old and youDg. The canning factory .will start canning peas next Monday. The frost cut the crop short in all fields that were planted early, but the late fields look well. The Illinois land buyers are seen on our streets almost every day now. Geo. B. Antrim went to Barkley township last Monday, to attend a trial before Squire Lewis, as an attorney.
