Hay and straw will be very scarce and very high, next winter. We again urge farmers, who hrve wheat or rye fields, which will soon be harvested,or oats or other fields that are producing nothing, to prepare the same at once, and sow to hungarian grass or millet or else drill the same very thick with corn. Make the rows twice as close as usual, and the seed twice as thick in the rows. Harrow the ground smooth after planting, and when the fodder is ready to harvest, cut it with a self-binder.
