REMINGTON ITEMS.
Born —Thursday, May 30— To Mr. and Mrs. Walter Talbot, a nine pound son. Miss Meggy Wood is visiting her sister, Mrs. Hartley. Miss Hannah Greenway spent a few days at Mrs. Peck’s last week. Mrs. Bessie Spencer McOwen has returned to her home in Joliet, after a two weeks visit here. At the last meeting of the town board Robert Parker was elected school trustee in place of Mr. Stiller, whose time expired this year. Dr. Ramsey was elected Health officer at the same time.
Miss Sara Bennet who has been visiting her sister Mrs. D. H. Patton has gone to Waveland to visit Mrs. Rhodes. Mrs. J. L. Peffley Sundayed in town.
Mr. and Mrs. Beale spent a few days in Watseka but were obliged to return sooner than they wished on account of Mrs. Beale’s health. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Carson attended a reunion of the Carson family at Idaville last Monday. John Green is home from Valpo. Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Mclntire and Mrs. Jessie Conrad are visiting in town this week. Miss Lore returned to her home in Michigan, Monday. Alf Snyder did not like the country, south, and returned home Tuesday. Miss Ella Welch graduates from Terre Haute June 15th, after which she will return home. The temperance people came out ahead once and Eck did not obtain his expected license last week. Wm. Guy died very suddenly last Friday. The funeral services were held at his home a couple of miles from town. Interment at the Remington Cemetery. Miss Millie Gray has returned from Danville Ind. for the summer vacation. Mrs. Florence Landon has returned from her Indianapolis visit Miss Lizzie Green left Saturday for South Bend where she will be joined by her niece, after which the two will make quite an extended trip in the west, taking in Salt Lake City, Yellowstone Park and various other places of interest, returning home in September. Children’s day, at the Presbyterian church in the morning, and at the M. E. church in the evening, were both very interesting exercises, and were greeted by full houses. Geo Griffin spent Sunday in Chigago with his son Fred. Miss Effie Roberts returned from school last Monday. Miss Myra Price came home from the south last Saturday.
